I'm off to Ireland in May to learn what I might about my MELODY and KILLIAN ancestors who originated in County Roscommon in the 1830's; James Melody married Mary Killian ca 1850 producing at least 3 children Catherine in 1853, Martin James in 1855 and Anna in 1857.
No useful info from Griffiths or the Aplotment rolls to date though I must check more closely
Parents of James as yet unknown but Mary's were Patrick Killian and Margarite Kelly
some killians found in Griffiths but as yet unconnected to me
open to any suggestions or insights... this being my first visit I may not achieve much but I will return if there's promise...

this trip did not happen due to a mishap to do with my neck and shoulder which I didn't want to interfere with my travel, so now I am confirmed to travel from Chicago to Dublin on 17 Nov 2015
for a two week visit.
I am currently researching lodging arrangements in Dublin and Athlone where I expect to spend a good portion of my first week
